Graduation from Puppy Class

While my parents were here visiting Darwin graduated from puppy class at Petsmart. Although he still needs a lot of work with some of basics we will begin intermediate classes in 2 weeks.  Darwin is really smart and I think he will do well after he grows out of his excited puppy phase.

He was so adorable with the graduation cap and even received a certificate.

My parents bought him a tug-of-war toy which my dad insisted was made from "indestructible" fabric. It lasted about 1 week before he ripped a hole in it and started to pull out the stuffing.

January Birthdays

We had 2 BIG birthdays in January...
my brother Jason turned 40

and my nephew Cody turned 21!!

When the family was in town we went out for a birthday sushi dinner, then the boys wanted to do some racing so off to the indoor go kart track for some adrenaline!

The following weekend we continued the celebration at Toby Keith's "I Love This Bar & Grill"...no joke...for some dancing and mechanical bull riding. Unfortunately I have yet to obtain any pictures, or video, but Dave rode the mechanical bull twice! Needless to say our hippie spirits felt a little out of place with the Colorado cowboys but lots of fun was had by all.

Happy Birthday Gargoyle Geckos...

Before our move from Oregon to Colorado we found 3 gargoyle gecko eggs.  Dave was very nervous about whether or not they would survive the move but they did.  The last one hatched the other day. To remember where they came from we named them after popular streets in Portland.

Gecko #1, Belmont, born September 27, 2010.

Gecko #2, Hawthorne, born October 29, 2010.

Gecko #3, Foster, born December 16, 2010.

Thanksgiving in NYC...

Since it was my first time being in New York, Dave and his family gave me the tour...

Times Square & Broadway where we saw American Idiot

Rockefeller Center

The Museum of Natural History

Montauk Lighthouse, on the south shore of Long Island

 The Bronx Zoo

Sight-seeing was fun but the crowds were a little overwhelming.  The best part was spending Thanksgiving with family...and the delicious food of course.
We are truly blessed.

Our new puppy...

We go into Petsmart to get the usual and we come across this adorable puppy in need of a home.  Of course we couldn't resist his cute little face and big ears...so here is our new pup Darwin.

"Fall"ing in love with Colorado...

The fall is beautiful here with the trees changing color, especially the aspens, and the cool crisp air.  We enjoyed a beautiful day with our friend Gwenn and Anthony picking out our pumpkins...

Dave has his little red wagon...we are ready to see the pumpkins...

This place wasn't just about the pumpkins...they also had a petting zoo where we saw some goats playing...

...a bee hive...or Dave's worst nightmare...

...and a maze, but is it a maze if you don't have choose which direction to go?

And finally some other items at the general store, such as pumpkin and apple butter.

 Our bounty of pumpkins...

After a lot of time and energy spent at the pumpkin patch it's time for some grub...and beer.
